Acupuncture (X-posted)

So, when I was searching for a therapist (still haven't picked one, but I have one I will pick if we can get the financial aspect sorted out), I found a link to a local business called Working Class Acupuncture, which does acupuncture work on a 15-35 dollar sliding scale.

I have been *dying* to try this, but it's always been so expensive, and usually clinics intimidate me. Well, I went to check this out because the style was a little bit different.

I filled out my medical questionnaire and listed the problems I was in for. A therapist reviewed my work, talked me through questions, and then took me to one of the most magical places ever.

It was a large room full of recliners with blankets on it. Well-lit, but not too much. People lying in random recliners, eyes closed. It was warm, and so quiet except for quite snores, breathing, and nature sounds.

My therapist told me to relax as she checked my pulses and put the pins in. She said she wanted people to stay at least a half an hour, but beyond that, we would tell her when we felt done. She said to just open my eyes if I wanted to go, and she would come over and take the pins out.

I lied back and felt the pins, then a strange rush of energy in my body. I had gone in complaining about fatigue, depression, and back pain. I felt my mind race and my back muscle tense up. Then, all of a sudden, it was all gone. The next thing I knew, it was an hour and a half later and I was waking up from a nap.

I woke up feeling amazing. I stretched my back, which felt so relieved of tension (it has some back now but not nearly as severe as it was). I felt energetic and calm and happy.

I made an appointment for next week. I can't wait. It's like a magical thing that just takes it all away. I might try going twice a week every other week, on the weeks that I have Fridays off.

It is awesome. I encourage all of you to do a search in your area. A lot of businesses mimic their model to provide inexpensive healing to those who are tight on cash or insurance.

Yeah, acupuncture is Amazing. Too bad it's hard to find a place in Johnson City, let alone a wallet friendly one.

I'm glad you got to try it. I think it'll be really good for you.
